29th International IBA Conference 2026

On September 25, the 29th IBA Conference, held in Pescasseroli, concluded its proceedings, which focused on coexistence strategies between humans and bears, and on international collaboration for the protection of these animals.

The IBA Conference is considered the most important global event on these issues, where the world's leading experts meet to exchange experiences and seek innovative solutions to contain and minimize human-bear conflicts. The critical aspect of this coexistence stems primarily from one factor: food waste present in urban garbage attracts bears and other wildlife, pushing them into populated areas in search of "easy food." This creates potentially dangerous situations for both animals and humans.

Our company was pleased to participate in this important event as a sponsor, officially presenting its innovative Wild Safe computerized container. This project was born with two parallel objectives: to secure food waste and to maximize the protection of wildlife from injuries that could occur during interaction with the container.

Thanks toWild Safe's technological innovation, the container becomes an interactive device that allows for the protected collection and temporary storage of urban food waste. Electromechanical access control, data transmission, and sensors: thanks to these elements, Wild Safe is not just a passive, reinforced container, but is transformed into an active protection and monitoring tool.

It could become a suitable tool for remodeling separate waste collection in places where this problem exists, moving from a critical door-to-door service to an extremely safe solution.

At the end of the event, we at Metal Design Srl decided to donate the Wild Safe Special Container, used for the official presentation, to the Municipality of Pescasseroli, which enthusiastically accepted the donation. We extend our sincere thanks to the Municipality for hosting this prestigious event, where we were able to publicly present our new project.

Furthermore, we would also like to thank the organizers of the event: the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park (PNALM), the associations Rewilding Apennines and Salviamo l'Orso.
